Dry Erase Crock Pot Label

Whenever I make something for a party or potluck in my crock pot I always wish there was a way I could label it so everyone would know what it was. Sometimes I make cute little folded signs to put next to it but sometimes I forget or don’t have time. Today, however I was inspired by some old magnetic dry erase boards for the fridge that I have sitting in my craft closet.

I cut one up, added some stickers and viola!  Quick and easy, reusable labels for my crock pots! And now my red one is an owl crock pot, too…

Crafty Organization

There are TONS of great ideas for organizing your home on Pinterest! But this past week or so I’ve learned that if you want to DO any of those great ideas, you can’t spend any time on Pinterest… It’s a real catch 22. ;o)

I did all of my Fall cleaning in the last 8 days! After the craziness of summer I need to get things back in order. This means purging, organizing and cleaning. It also meant implementing a few of the ideas I got off Pinterest… If only there was enough time to do them all!

This is my list of possible meals and snacks for the week. I was inspired by this idea at Make and Takes

I took the same idea of using picture frames as dry erase boards and used it for my prayer lists and for cooking checklists

This idea came from Not on the High Street but I decided to just make one out of felt instead of buying one.

I’ve needed some bookmarks to mark the songs I practice for church each week. So I made these button ones from Bella Dia. But then I got the idea to use them to hold my sheet music together. Unfortunately buttons were too heavy. But ribbon worked very nicely!

This spice drawer is my favorite! Thanks Frugal Décor Mom! It also freed up space in the pantry because I was able to get rid of my spinny spice rack thing from our wedding almost 20 years ago…

I also love having all my dry goods in glass jars so I can see what’s in them!

I got these dry erase wall clings on clearance at Wal Mart. I used a cute plaid binder clip for a pen holder and now I have an easy place to keep track of all the items I need to put on my grocery list!

My recipes were totally out of hand, so I dressed up 3 ugly binders I got for free with some scrapbook paper. Now I have 3 very cute and organized recipe binders. They are also very HUGE and had to find a new home in the kitchen!

I feel much better now that everything is so nice and organized! Now I just need to get back into a routine again…

Operation Organization

I really let myself go the past few months…

craft organize 09 craft organize 08 While I didn’t do any actual craft projects, I did accumulate LOTS of stuff for doing craft projects. And to make matters worse, I just let it stack up everywhere! I couldn’t even see what I had, much less find space to work in.

With fall quickly approaching, I knew it was time to get organized. So I moved Will out of his private “office” and into the schoolroom onto my desk and put myself on the work table.

Then Chris built me some shelves in the furnace room for all my stuff. After all, my rule is “If it doesn’t have a home, it can’t stay”. And I just wasn’t willing to give up any more stuff… :o)

So I tackled the job all at once. I can only take so much disaster for so long… And since it only gets worse before it gets better, it had to get done quickly!

I picked up some bins, put everything away, labeled and yes, even got rid of…

Finishing UFOs

I realized it was finally time to finish all those UFO (unfinished objects) projects lying around my craft table.

First up was the baby quilt I cut out while at the beach. I also took the extra flannel and made two bibs and two baby toys.

I would have done the other one, too but I have to finish piecing the third one so I know how they all fit onto the tablecloth I am using for the back… (but I did get the third one most cut out)

I also made my tea towel garden quilt, and a coloring bag for our godson’s birthday.

I have so many ideas for more future UFOs and so little time!!!
